The purpose of this conference is to inspire action among students and encourage them to think critically about the “mark” they will leave on the world around them. When we use phrases like “the real world” to characterize what students will do after graduation, students often believe that what they do during college is some sort of simulated experience. The leadership office wants to dispel that myth and empower students to think of themselves as agents of change not only on campus but within the community and the world. This conference will showcase speakers that rose to the occasion and made their mark on society in a variety of different ways.

An intentionally designed conference curriculum combined with a polished and professional experience, from registration to the closing social program, is sure to change the way students think about leadership initiatives on campus.

Guiding Principles

  • Leadership is not positional. It’s not something that happens “when you enter the real world”. It is not something elite or unattainable. Leadership is courage in action and it happens everyday.
  • Every student possesses the potential to leave their “mark” on campus and in the world, this conference should inspire them to do that. Attendees will leave feeling like they can take on that dream, idea or bucket list item that they’ve always wanted to do.
  • Leadership development programming does not need to feel like a classroom or stuffy workshop, it should be imaginative, innovative and intentionally designed.
